Miers Withdraws

Her resignation letter cites Senate demands for release of internal White House documents in advance of her confirmation hearings - the Krauthammer Exit Strategy. Personally, I'm glad she has done so but I didn't exactly oppose her nomination. How's that for straddling the fence?

I agree- I'm glad she withdrew, for many reasons. I wasn't really keen on the idea of having someone that served as a political advisor to the President, rather than just as a legal advisor. I'm not all that suprised that she withdrew- it was shaping up to be a heavily politicized fight. Wonder who's next. . .
