More Rather Lather
Dan Rather is fast becoming the poster child of slow learners. Considering Kerry's recent remarks about the 'possibility' of a draft under President Bush, is this another example of coordination between CBS and the Kerry campaign? See Power Line and Little Green Footballs for more.

Roger Wood (mail):
In defense, I would like to state that it is a pleasure to be out here in the country where, except for October, the deer are safe, except for Uzi's. I am offended by the contempuous reference to my dialup mode, which only reduces the speed of my denuniations of Donna's blather. I do not know what she is on, but I bet that it is illegal in Canada too.

I guess I was posting on the wrong comment. With regard to Mr. Rather, it comes as a profound shock to most of us to find that he is regarded as liberal. We always thought he was just the well-paid mouthpiece of Viacom. Dan Rather is, if he is, a liberal only because he is necessarily educated, experienced and informed, aware of the bias of the spin of the press releases that cross the desk each hour, and basically offering the best of his knowledge, information, and expertise. He really demonstrates the best of Texas. To the extent that he is embarrassed in his Texas heritage by the machinations of Kennebunkport pretending to be down on the farm, I believe that he is entitled to be, like the most of us, offended when George W. Bush and Karl Rove try to pretend. Texans know horseshit when they see it. The experts do not know this yet, but Texas is not in the red column yet.
